Marianne Mettes is a full-time artist, performer and puppetry teacher through her self-made career as artistic director of PuppetOOdle (founded 2011).

Marianne has travelled, trained and worked through Europe, USA and Australia and has been professionally trained by master puppeteers and puppet builders from across the globe. Her unique set of skills, creativity, outlook on life and ability to connect with people has led her to a successful and inspiring self-made career as a full-time artist, performer and teaching artist.

Marianne has received funding, created projects and worked with many local and international organisations that include: Sesame Street Workshop (New York), National Museum of Australia, Canberra Theatre Centre, CAPO, Belconnen Arts Centre, National Folk Festival, Australian National Botanic Gardens, National Archives of Australia, Ainslie and Gorman House Centres, ACT NOWaste, Canberra Youth Theatre, Canberra Street Theatre, ArtsACT and more.

For Marianne, puppetry is the creative glue that fuses together all her passion, professional skills and abilities in music, art, film, theatre, dance and performance.

PuppetOOdle has their own public liability insurance and hold national police checks for working with children and vulnerable people. PuppetOOdle can supply workshop equipment, materials and sound system suitable for indoor and small outside venues, unless otherwise specified.
